INDIANAPOLIS -- Chuck Pagano has been fired as head coach of the Colts after six seasons.
The news began to break less than two hours after Indianapolis ended a 4-12 season with a 22-13 victory against the Texans at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The win snapped a six-game losing streak and ensured the team will select third overall in April's NFL draft.
The Colts missed the playoffs for the third straight season for the first time since 1989-91.
Pagano compiled a 56-46 overall record, including a 3-3 mark in the postseason. His teams won the AFC South in 2013 and 2014 and advanced to the AFC Championship game following the 2014 season.
