Rigoberto Sanchez was signed as an undrafted free agent back in 2017 to compete with Jeff Locke, whom the Colts had traded a seventh round pick for. Locke wasn’t good enough in camp, so Sanchez want the job. Now Sanchez is being locked down as the team punter for years to come.
The Colts signed Sanchez to a four-year extension worth $11.6 million according to ESPN’s Field Yates. That means he is now signed for a total of five seasons worth $12.245 million. That’s a pretty good pay day for a punter, especially one who hasn’t been to a Pro Bowl.
