Colts don’t want to restrict Anthony Richardson’s rushing ability—but can still better protect himself

According to his head coach Shane Steichen on ‘Green Light with Chris Long’ earlier this offseason, Indianapolis Colts 2nd-year starting quarterback Anthony Richardson should not be under restrictions regarding utilizing his special rushing ability going forward.

However, when asked, Steichen does believe that the young quarterback should still look to protect his body, especially when it comes to fighting for every last yard situationally:

“Yeah, I think that’s a great question, and I get asked that a lot,” responded Steichen to host Chris Long on Richardson rushing but not recklessly.
