Colts defense stifles Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs juggernaut offense in 19-13 win

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Indianapolis Colts defense was too banged up, too inconsistent to have a prayer. The Kansas City Chiefs offense -- even without Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins -- was an unstoppable juggernaut. Patrick Mahomes cannot be contained -- not even by a healthy, elite-level defense.

Without All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard, without starting safeties Mailk Hooker and Clayton Geathers, that was the story Colts fans were expecting to read following Sunday night's matchup with the unbeaten Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Instead, the Colts defense flipped that narrative and turned its best performance of the year -- perhaps even in many years as they lifted the Colts to a stunning 19-13 victory.
