INDIANAPOLIS — For all the alarms set off by the Indianapolis Colts' play in the first two preseason games, the Dallas Cowboys' opening drive on Saturday should be the most urgent.
After an offseason spent making the defense younger and more athletic, the seven-play, 95-yard touchdown march looked all too familiar.
There were poor angles, missed tackles and too many Dallas players running in wide-open spaces. And the second drive wasn't much better.
The Cowboys gained 71 yards on 11 plays before a fumble forced by safety Matthias Farley and outside linebacker John Simon was recovered by cornerback Vontae Davis at Indianapolis' 7-yard line.
