INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts claimed defensive tackle Khalil Davis off of waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, adding another defensive lineman to an already stuffed room.
Davis, a 6-1, 308-pounder from Nebraska, was a sixth-round draft pick for the Buccaneers in 2020 and saw limited time during Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl run, playing in two regular-season games and the first two playoff games.
He had not played for the Buccaneers this season. Indianapolis had an extra roster spot available after placing All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson on injured reserve on Saturday, but there may still be more moves this week — rookie quarterback Sam Ehlinger was designated to return from injured reserve last week, giving the Colts 21 days to place him on the active roster.
