WESTFIELD — The Colts finally have a front-runner for the swing tackle spot, a role that might have to be the starting left tackle in the season opener against Seattle.
Veteran tackle Julién Davenport, who started out in the trailing position because of time spent on the reserve/COVID-19 list, has come all the way back and taken control of the job.
Davenport initially got first-team snaps at left tackle before the Carolina Panthers made the trip to Westfield for joint practices.
“I think Julién has established himself there at the left tackle position, but we feel good about the other guys that have been repping out there as well,” Colts head coach Frank Reich said.
