INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts are bringing back one of the most important voices in their locker room.
Indianapolis is signing linebacker Zaire Franklin to a three-year deal with $4 million guaranteed and worth up to $12 million over the life of the deal, a league source told IndyStar on Tuesday.
Franklin played a career-high 200 defensive snaps for the Colts last season, making 29 tackles and an interception, and he’s averaged 320 special-teams snaps per season in his four years in Indianapolis, becoming an integral part of Bubba Ventrone’s kicking units.
Franklin, a seventh-round pick by Indianapolis in 2018, has made 30 tackles in the kicking game in four seasons, blocked a punt against Jacksonville last season and also recovered a fumble.
