INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts officially announced four key hires for Frank Reich's coaching staff Friday.
Indianapolis confirmed Matt Eberflus will serve as defensive coordinator and Nick Sirianni will be the offensive coordinator. Bubba Ventrone will be the special teams coordinator, and Rusty Jones was hired as the director of sports performance.
Eberflus long has been rumored for the top defensive job. He was hired to work for Josh McDaniels and signed his contract before the Patriots offensive coordinator backed out of a verbal agreement.
The Colts decided to honor that contract, and general manager Chris Ballard is excited about the pending shift to a 4-3 defense.
