The Indianapolis Colts will be allowed to host up to 7,500 fans at Lucas Oil Stadium Week 3 against the New York Jets, up from 2,500 for this Sunday's home opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
With 7,500 fans, Lucas Oil Stadium, which seats about 67,000, will be filled to about 11% capacity.
Team COO Pete Ward told IndyStar on Wednesday afternoon the Marion County Public Health Department gave permission to the Colts to increase the number allowed inside Lucas Oil Stadium for the team's second home game of the season. The hope remains, Ward said, that even more fans will be allowed for future home games.
