The Indianapolis Colts select USC wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. with the 34th pick. Indianapolis Star
INDIANAPOLIS — By the time the Colts finally ended up on the clock in the 2020 NFL Draft, a few minutes into Friday’s second round, there was little reason left to throw a curveball into the draft process.
Indianapolis made the expected move, using the 34th pick to draft USC wide receiver Michael Pittman, immediately filling the team’s biggest need with the kind of pass catcher the Colts have rarely been able to find.
That's the kind of big-bodied, powerful receiver that Philip Rivers has loved to find for big plays his entire career, such a good fit that Pittman woke up Friday morning thinking he was headed to Indianapolis.
