INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts are bringing in a kicker to step in for an injured Rodrigo Blankenship if needed.
Indianapolis tried out four kickers Wednesday, and the Colts decided to sign former Chargers kicker Michael Badgley to the practice squad, a league source with knowledge of the situation told IndyStar on Wednesday, taking advantage of NFL roster rules that allow teams to promote two practice squad players to the gameday roster each week.
Blankenship underwent an MRI on the hip injury he suffered in warmups before Monday night’s loss to the Ravens, and the results showed an injury that Blankenship will have to rehabilitate.
