The Indianapolis Colts announced earlier on Tuesday that the team has signed former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Chris Covington to their practice squad.
Originally selected by the Cowboys in the 6th round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Covington has recorded 3 tackles in 8 career games.
Of course, some Colts fans may remember Covington as a standout linebacker for Indiana University, where he was the Hoosiers’ 2017 Defensive Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-Big Ten respectively.
At 6’2”, 245 pounds, Covington had been out of pro football so far this season, but as a local product from the Colts ‘own backyard’, perhaps they liked something they saw when scouting him previously.
