INDIANAPOLIS — Faced with an opening at wide receiver this week, the Colts opted to bring in a veteran instead of promoting Reece Fountain from the practice squad or adding another fresh face.
Indianapolis signed Dontrelle Inman, a fifth-year NFL veteran who blossomed into a bona fide deep threat for the Chargers during Frank Reich's final season as offensive coordinator in San Diego, to replace Marcus Johnson, who was placed on injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury against the Jets.
