INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts have a long and storied history of finding diamonds in the rough.
Gary Brackett. Jack Doyle. Kenny Moore. Rigoberto Sanchez and Rodrigo Blankenship. All five went undrafted and made the opening-day roster in Indianapolis anyway, part of a remarkable streak of 22 years with an undrafted rookie on the squad.
The streak is the longest in the NFL, such a part of Colts lore that the team uses it as a marketing pitch in the frenzied battle for undrafted free agents after the seventh round has come to a close.
