Clayton Geathers' versatility helps Colts defense

INDIANAPOLIS — Ask him, and Clayton Geathers will say he’s comfortable playing just about any defensive position for the Indianapolis Colts. Safety? Easy. Dime? No problem. Defensive end? Sure.

Really, not one position he isn’t comfortable playing?

“He’d probably say nose tackle,” coach Chuck Pagano joked. “I don’t think we’d put him in there, but he’s a good football player. He’s a smart guy, he knows, he gets it, he understands, and he’s still young. He’s still growing.”

All joking aside, the Colts deployed Geathers’ versatility in last Sunday’s 31-26 win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field when they moved him from safety to linebacker to counter the Packers’ pass-heavy offense.
