INDIANAPOLIS — Chris Ballard had heard enough from outsiders about why he shouldn’t pursue cornerback Marcus Peters in the 2015 NFL Draft.
With the team’s scouts raving about Peters’ potential — not only on the field, but off of it — Ballard, then the Kansas City Chiefs’ Director of Football Operations, hopped on a plane to California to get an up-close-and-personal look for himself.

“I said, ‘I’m going; I’m going to Oakland,’” Ballard told host Peter King last week on The MMQB Podcast.
