INDIANAPOLIS -- Stephen Morris is climbing, Phillip Walker is falling and Scott Tolzien is holding firm. For now.
In a move that, based upon the on-field performance of the past month, seems long overdue, the Indianapolis Colts finally shuffled their depth chart at quarterback on Monday, promoting Morris back to the No. 2 slot behind Tolzien, who’ll remain the starter heading into the team’s third preseason game Saturday night at Pittsburgh.
It remains a longshot that Morris leapfrogs Tolzien and earns the start for the Sept. 10 regular season opener if Andrew Luck is unable to play.
