Flash back one year ago this week.
The Indianapolis Colts, facing uncertainty on the back end of their defense, signed a veteran safety most had written off.
Mike Adams' unemployment ended just in time for the team's mandatory minicamp, a full three months after the opening of free agency. His late signing gave him a whole three days of work before being thrown headfirst in training camp into a position battle he would ultimately win.
As it turned out, Adams exceeded even the most optimistic expectations. He turned in a career year as the starting strong safety, went to his first Pro Bowl, finished third on the team in total tackles (93) and led the Colts with five interceptions.
