In the midst of Adam Vinatieri’s worst, and likely final, season the Colts listed him on today’s injury report before announcing that they have claimed Chase McLaughlin off of waivers from the San Francisco 49ers.
McGlaughlin, has spent time with multiple teams this season going 13-17 on field goals and is a perfect 15-15 on extra point tries. Most recently McGlaughlin went 7-8 in his three games with the 49ers. Those kind of numbers, while not amazingly impressive would be a welcome improvement.
We can only speculate what this might mean for the NFL’s all time scoring leader but the writing seems to be on the wall that we may have seen Adam Vinatieri in a Colts uniform for the final time.
