INDIANAPOLIS — Ross Travis waited a long time to get back in the NFL.
Waited longer than he ever has before, long enough that he admits uncertainty crept into his mind, that he started to question some things.
Travis, who was cut by the Colts at the end of training camp, faced a narrow path back to the NFL. He's no longer eligible for the practice squad, hasn’t played in a regular-season game since 2017 and tore his ACL in the preseason finale in 2018.
When the questions crept into his mind, Travis could have cut and run, could have looked for a landing spot in the XFL.
