INDIANAPOLIS -- This was the best case scenario for Indianapolis Colts fans.
And it wasn't enough.
Andrew Luck looked good in his first regular season game since Jan. 1, 2017, completing 39-of-53 passes for 319 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in a 34-23 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals at Lucas Oil Stadium.
But Luck couldn't conjure up one of his patented comebacks. A potential game-winning drive ended when Jack Doyle fumbled at the Cincinnati 17-yard line after getting the necessary yardage for a first down and it was returned for a game-clinching touchdown with 20 seconds remaining.
