As Andrew Luck sets to face off against the undefeated Carolina Panthers for the first time Monday night, that theory is rearing its ugly head.
That theory?
That he went back to play his final year at Stanford University to avoid being drafted by the Panthers as the No. 1 pick of the 2011 NFL draft.
ESPN writer David Newton brought the theory up to Luck Wednesday, asking him if he returned to college after his redshirt sophomore season in 2010 to steer clear of a Carolina team coming off a 2-14 season.
