AFC South loads up; are Colts still king?

Is it a great time to be a free agent in the NFL or what?

Since the start of the NFL’s new league year Wednesday afternoon, the Jacksonville Jaguars have dished out $152 million worth of contracts. That’s $152 million for three players.

The Houston Texans aren’t far behind, ponying up $126 million on three players of their own. The crown jewel of their spending spree is quarterback Brock Osweiler, he of seven career starts, yet he of a newly-minted four-year, $72 million contract.

Not to be outshone, the Tennessee Titans traded for Pro Bowl running back DeMarco Murray and gave him a new $25-million deal.
