INDIANAPOLIS -- The Adam Vinatieri era will include another Sunday.
After two more misses and amid rampant speculation that the 46-year-old was heading toward retirement, Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich announced Monday that Vinatieri will serve as the team's placekicker during it's home-opener this weekend against the Atlanta Falcons.
"There's been a lot discussion about Adam, so I just want to make this clear: Adam’s our kicker," Reich said less than 24 hours after watching Vinatieri hook one extra point wide left and clank another off the right upright in the team's 19-17 victory in Nashville.
