WESTFIELD — The level of play is going to be a bit higher in the Colts’ second preseason game on Saturday night in Minnesota.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters earlier this week that he plans to play his starters. Indianapolis coach Frank Reich plans to do the same, albeit with a few exceptions.
For that reason, the first hour or so after Saturday night’s 8 p.m. kickoff might be the most interesting minutes of the preseason. Indianapolis held all but a handful of starters out of the preseason opener against Carolina, and either the Colts or the Lions might do the same in next week’s preseason finale, preferring to protect their big guns and give the time to those on the bubble.
