If you told a Colts fan a decade ago about how good their RB production is, they would have looked at you bewildered and asking “What’s with this sarcasm?”. Man how times have changed.
With Jonathan Taylor at the helm for RB1 duties, the Colts have had the most effective rushing attack stretch from late 2020-2023 since the Edgerrin James-early Joseph Addai/Dominic Rhodes days. Since entering the NFL in 2020, Taylor has rushed for:
- 4,582 yards (2nd)
- 5 Yards Per Carry (3rd among RBs, min. 500 carries)
- 40 Touchdowns (2nd among RBs)
- 925 Carries (3rd)
This is inspite of a 2022 ankle injury that lingered to the start of 2023, a contract dispute, and a finger surgery over the last 2 seasons limiting Taylor to just 21/34 games played.
