ATLANTA – For a little while, after he’d missed an entire season and tried just about everything to fix the unrelenting pain in his throwing shoulder and found few answers, Andrew Luck wondered if he’d ever be able to play football again, if the game he loved would ever be fun again, if the dark clouds of uncertainty and anxiety would ever stop growing.
Then this season happened.
Finally healthy again, Luck came roaring back, invigorated by his own health, a renewed love of the game, a team on the rise and a coach who sees the game the same way, and on Saturday night he was named the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year.
