2018 Colts Free Agent Decisions: Wide Receiver Kamar Aiken

The Colts needed some more depth in their receiving corps in 2017, so general manager Chris Ballard signed Kamar Aiken to a one-year $2.6 million deal this offseason to be a possible third option in this offense behind T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief.

Ballard traded away former first round pick Phillip Dorsett, which opened up an opportunity for Chester Rogers and Aiken to battle for that third wide receiver spot on the depth chart. Rogers battled a hamstring injury through the first month-and-a-half this season, so Aiken had his chance to establish himself early on.

One thing that didn’t help Aiken was the inexperience at the quarterback position, which undermined the passing offense all year long.
