BREAKING: Colts QB Andrew Luck Has Abdominal Injuries, Out Multiple Weeks

The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that QB Andrew Luck will be out multiple weeks with abdominal injuries suffered in Sunday's 27-24 victory over the Denver Broncos.

"The injuries happened at the end of an early fourth quarter scramble when Andrew was doing everything he could to get us the win," head coach Chuck Pagano said via the team's official statement. "Andrew was feeling sore after the game and was feeling a little worse Monday afternoon so we sent him to get tests."

Luck suffered a laceration of one of his kidneys and a partial tear of an abdominal muscle. The injuries should not require surgery, but the expected recovery time is still 2-6 weeks depending on how fast his body heals up.

"It's way too early to guess how long Andrew will be out," said Pagano. "We're going to keep listening to the doctors and evaluating the progress on a week by week basis. We've got all the confidence in the world in Matt Hasselbeck and we're not going to put Andrew back out there until he's healed and ready to go."

Hasselbeck has already started two games this year for Luck, throwing for 495 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while leading the team to back-to-back wins over Jacksonville and Houston.
