The NFL has slowly but surely evolved into a 'pass first' league. The teams that continually dominate in today's game are the ones with elite talent at the quarterback position -- and no quarterback in the NFL has been more consistent throughout his career than Peyton Manning.
The Colts announced today that Manning would not start his 228th game in a row due to a neck injury. The last man to start for the Colts not named Peyton was 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh in 1998. Now the reality sets in for Colts fans but there is still reason for optimism.

If Collins can come close to producing like he did two years ago in Tennessee then the Colts should still have a chance to win the division when Manning returns to the offense.
