Washington's offense looked much more effective with Colt McCoy behind the wheel, but ultimately it wasn't enough to take down Andrew Luck and the high-scoring Indianapolis Colts.
Turning Point:
The Colts iced this one with a huge third quarter, and the Redskins just couldn't keep up with their production. Indy scored 21 points between 10:05 and 4:45 in the third, turning a 21-17 lead into a 42-24 advantage.
Colts MVP:
This was a comprehensive win for the Colts, but Luck gets full credit for making the offense tick. After a fumble and an interception on his first two drives, Luck got it together, then went on to finish 19/27 with 370 yards, 5 TDs and 1 INT.
Redskins MVP:
You can't blame this loss on Colt McCoy. McCoy put on Washington's best QB performance of the year, going 31/47 with 392 yards, 3 TDs and no interceptions. He might not be the long-term answer, but the Redskins have absolutely no reason not to start him in their four remaining games.
QB Controversy?
This should effectively end the discussion in Washington. McCoy might not be the next great NFL QB, but he's light-years ahead of where Robert Griffin III is right now.
What's Next?
Washington has now lost four straight, and will try to end their skid at home next weekend against the St. Louis Rams. The Colts will travel to Cleveland for an important matchup with the surprising Browns.
