The Indianapolis Colts are on the cusp of championship greatness, and there's still plenty of room for optimism right now in spite of an uninspiring 2-2 start. Here's 4 Reasons Why The Indianapolis Colts Are Guaranteed To Make The Playoffs.
4) Offensive Line Stability
The Colts employed a revolving door of offensive-line looks in 2014, but Indy appears has a concrete first team in place with Castonzo, Mewhort, Holmes, and Herremans. Such continuity is going to be critical to Indianapolis getting maximum efficiency and pop out of their Death Star arsenal of offensive studs.
3) The AFC's A Mess
The New England Patriots have the dark cloud of deflated football vapor hanging over their heads. The Denver Broncos are vulnerable if only because of eventual regression with Peyton Manning in the twilight of his career. The Steelers and Ravens have major flaws and the Bengals are stuck in a spiral of underachievement. Add in an AFC South full of rebuilding projects, and you have a prime path to an AFC Championship...at least.
2) Offseason additions
The Colts brought in veterans Frank Gore and Andre Johnson this offseason to help them on the offensive side of the ballto go along with signing CB Darius Butler, LB Trent Cole, and LB Nate Irving on the defensive side of the ball (among others). Throw in the addition of game-breaking wideout Phillip Dorsett in the draft, and Indianapolis has significantly improved on the team that went to the AFC Championship Game last year -- regardless of what their early struggles say.
These additions indicate that they should take the next step forward to the Super Bowl, and will keep them from taking any steps backwards.
1) Andrew Luck. Andrew Luck. And More Andrew Luck.
2015 just feels the year where Luck's ascent to superstardom meets Super Bowl glory. With former 49ers legend Gore at his disposal in the running game and a couple of explosive new receiving targets in Johnson and Dorsett, Luck has a full clip of ammunition to rain pinball-like scoring numbers on NFL defense. The Colts are early AFC favorites and Luck's a GIGANTIC part of that.
