ST. LOUIS – Indiana State's Tristan Weaver has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week, the League office announced Monday. The honor marks the first time in Weaver's career he has earned the award.
An Auburn, Illinois native, Weaver has been dominant for the Sycamores after missing all of 2019 due to injury. He holds an 0.46 ERA through three starts which is second-best in the MVC. The left-hander has pitched 19.2 innings, striking out 31 while holding opponents to a .094 average against.
In Friday's series opening win over Elon, Weaver pitched seven complete innings, striking out a career high 12 batters while allowing just three hits in a combined shutout effort.
