TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Becky Malchow was 3-for-3, Bella Peterson reached base in all three plate appearances and drove in a pair of runs and Indiana State clinched its first postseason berth since 2015 with a 4-1 win over Loyola in the second game of a Missouri Valley Conference doubleheader Saturday at Price Field.
The win ended a five-game skid for Indiana State (24-27, 11-14) and the Sycamores clinched a spot in the MVC Tournament for the first time since 2015. Indiana State can now finish no lower than seventh in The Valley.
