JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Junior All-American David Timlin secured a spot in Saturday’s quarterfinal race in the 1500-meter run following a qualifying performance Thursday evening at Day One of the NCAA East Regional at North Florida.
Timlin, the 14th-place finisher nationally in 2015 at ISU’s all-time record of 3:42.22, ran 3:48.61 to finish third in Heat Three for an automatic qualifying position.
Also competing on Thursday were senior pole vaulter Connor Curley and junior jumper Devyn Mikell. Mikell finished 26th overall at 7.37m (24-02.25), while Curley – a Terre Haute native – fell just two spots shy of qualifying for the national meet in 14th at 5.
