ST. LOUIS – Indiana State women's golfer Yang Tai has been named one of the Missouri Valley Conference Golfers of the Week, announced on Thursday afternoon.
Tai recorded only the sixth top five finish for Indiana State since the beginning of the 2021-22 season in The Velvet that concluded on Tuesday. Tai finished tied for fifth place – her best finish while wearing a Sycamore uniform – with a 226 (+10, 74-78-74). It marked her lowest score at recorded at Indiana State when playing a three-round tournament.
The junior started her first round shooting par on eight of the first nine holes, then followed up with back-to-back birdies to earn her a spot inside the top 10 after the first 36 holes.
