CARBONDALE, Ill. – Junior Ashley Taia scored a career-high 26 points Sunday afternoon in Carbondale to lead the Indiana State basketball team to a 68-53 victory over Southern Illinois. The Sycamores move to 7-6 on the season and 1-1 in the Missouri Valley. SIU fell to 7-6 and 1-1 in the MVC.
With the win, Indiana State now leads the all-time series with the Salukis, 45-44 after SIU had won four-straight in the series.
It was a back and fourth game for much of the first quarter as the Salukis and Sycamores battled it out with ISU leading by as many as four and SIU leading by six.
