MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Shaye Barton was 2-for-4 including a two-run home run in the top of the seventh that helped complete Indiana State's come-from-behind 6-3 victory over IUPUI in the opening game of the Memphis Softball Tournament Friday.
Indiana State (8-7) had trailed, 2-1, entering the final frame before the late-inning heroics pushed the Sycamores back over the .500 mark on the year. Leslie Sims ripped an RBI double to left center after Becky Malchow's leadoff single to tie the game at 2-2. Bailey Martin would get hit by a pitch before Bella Peterson drove in two runs with a double to left before Barton smashed the home run over the left center fence, expanding the ISU lead.
