DES MOINES, Iowa – doubled in the fourth inning but Indiana State stranded the only two baserunners the Sycamores put aboard in a 10-0, 5-inning loss at Drake in the first game of a Missouri Valley Conference doubleheader Saturday.
Indiana State's only threat came in the fourth as the Sycamores (11-19, 1-6) put two runners on with Martin's double followed by getting hit by a pitch. But back-to-back strikeouts ended the threat, preventing a State score. ISU would not put another runner on base the remainder of the game.
Drake (20-13, 6-1) powered its way to 10 runs on 12 hits in the game with seven of those 10 runs coming in the first two innings.
