TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State dropped the opening game of a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series as Missouri State used a four-run fourth inning to stymie the Sycamores, 7-1, Friday afternoon at Price Field.
The two teams would trade home run in the second inning before Missouri State (29-19, 13-10) would score six unanswered runs to pull away with the win. Amanda Guercio, with a solo blast to center in the bottom of the second, scored Indiana State's lone run.
The Sycamores (16-33, 4-20) best chances at battling back came in the third when ISU stranded two runners in scoring position.
