CARBONDALE, Ill. – Indiana State volleyball earned their first Missouri Valley Conference series sweep of the season on Monday evening after defeating Southern Illinois in Carbondale.
After falling in set one, the Sycamores (6-7, 6-6 MVC) would claim three-straight sets for a 3-1 [18-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-13] victory. With the loss, Southern Illinois falls to 2-12 (1-11 MVC) on the season.
Perhaps the most impressive stat, ISU dominated the service games by tallying 12 aces on the afternoon after ending with nine on Sunday. The 12 aces marked the first time since Sept. 8, 2018 against Saint Louis that ISU has tallied at least 10 in a match.
