CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Indiana State drops its season opener to Kennesaw State, 9-7 in its first game of the Chattanooga Challenge.
Kennesaw State got on the board first in the bottom of the third inning. Indiana State committed an error, allowing Faith Alexander to reach base and move to third on the play. Brea Dickey doubled down the left field line driving in the first run of the game. Lexi Solorzano singled giving the Owls an early 2-0 lead.
The Sycamores answered in the top of the fourth. Bella Peterson and Mallory Marsicek hit back-to-back singles and TeAnn Bringle reached on an error to load the bases.
