DAYTON, Ohio – Indiana State was in the match until the very end, but dropped a five-set heartbreaker to tournament host Wright State on Friday evening, 3-2.
Freshman Gretchen Kuckkan had a strong match for the blue and white, recording her third-career double-double with 12 kills and 18 digs.
As a team, Indiana State hit .147 on the match compared to Wright State's .195. ISU and WSU were close in total kills as well with 64 and 63, respectively.
The Trees got back to their defensive ways, owning the edge in total digs over the opposition, 98-89.
