Sycamore Offense Held at Bay as Missouri State Clinches Series

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – No. 13 Missouri State clinched the series and the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Regular Season Championship Saturday afternoon after defeating Indiana State, 4-1, at Hammons Field in Springfield.

A pitcher's duel through the first four innings of play, it wasn't until the fifth inning that either team was able to get the offense going, as the Sycamores drew first blood. After drew a leadoff walk before stealing second and moving to third on a wild pitch. That was when senior third baseman drove Rosselli in on a long sac fly to left.

Missouri State answered right back in the fifth after being held at bay in the first four innings by Sycamore right-hander .
