OXFORD, Ohio - The Indiana State men's and women's cross country teams opened with several strong performances at the Miami Opener on Friday.
Alongside regional rivals Indiana and Miami, the Sycamore men took second place with 41 points, defeating Miami (60) and falling to IU (23). On the women's side, ISU took third with 67 points, which trailed Miami (32) and IU (23).
Akis Medrano was the top Sycamore finisher for the men, taking third overall and first among attached athletes in the 8K race with a time of 25:34.30, just one second behind the second place finisher.
