TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State football powered its way to a 49-0 win over the Quincy Hawks to open the 2018 regular season Thursday night at Memorial Stadium in front of 6,243 fans.
The Sycamores (1-0) went for 423 yards in total while the Indiana State defense was solid throughout, allowing just 159 yards in the shutout - the first shutout for an ISU defense since holding Quincy scoreless to open the 2012 campaign.
The Sycamores pounded the ball behind its experienced offensive line throughout the evening, totaling 339 yards on the ground and six rushing touchdowns.
