CARBONDALE, Ill. -- For the fifth time this year and for the second consecutive game, Indiana State found itself in an overtime battle. Southern Illinois withstood a strong Sycamore push for the xx-xx victory inside SIU Arena.
The Sycamores fell to 6-9, 0-3 MVC while Southern Illinois improved to 9-7, 2-1 MVC. It was the second time this season that the Sycamores have gone to overtime in consecutive games. 10 of the Sycamores' first 15 games have either gone to overtime or been decided by one possession.
Brenton Scott led the way with 15 points while Matt Van Scyoc added 14.
