BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Junior Hunter Owen’s perfect day at the plate and senior Daniel Peterson’s performance on the mound led Sycamore Baseball (9-5, 0-0 MVC) past the Davidson Wildcats (7-7, 0-0 Atlantic 10) in a 7-1 victory.
The Sycamores struck first in the bottom of the first inning when Owen hit his first homerun of the 2016 season. Owen added another RBI in the bottom of the third inning as he doubled to plate freshman Clay Dungan who singled earlier in the inning.
Davidson would plate one run in the top of the fifth inning, but the Sycamores would answer with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
