ST. MICHAEL, Barbados - Indiana State junior Ayanna Morgan captured the Barbados national championship in the 100-meter hurdles on Saturday at National Stadium in St. Michael, Barbados.
Her journey to the championship was no easy task as she had to go face-to-face with Kierre Beckles who competed in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2016 Rio Olympics for Barbados and holds the national record of 12.88. The two hurdlers were neck-and-neck for the entire race, but Morgan dipped at the finish line and won with a time of 13.77 which matches her personal-best time and the fifth-best time in ISU history.
